15 FACTS for The Lipstick Lesbian

1. Rebecca is incredibly proud of her family, and she really loves every member of it. Her parents are the kind of parents that she knows a lot of kids wish they had. They don't push her into doing things she doesn't enjoy, they aren't particularly strict (although they also won't let her get away with whatever she wants to), and they rarely have fights about anything bigger or more serious than who's going to take the kids where at what time. Her sibling's aren't that bad either, as they mostly leave her alone. She respects their privacy too, to a certain extent. She's only peeked into her sister's diary once, really.

2. Despite how awesome she may find her family, she still hasn't let them know that she's a lesbian. All of her friends know, most of the school does, but she's pretty sure she's not going to tell her parents until she's out of high school. Luckily, her sister and brothers are too young to go to her school, and can't tell her parents. Still, it's a bit of a constant worry, and it hasn't been entirely enjoyable for her, hiding her girlfriends from her parents.

3. Speaking of girlfriends, Becca has had seven of them. She's not so much about the long-term, really. Well, no, it's not really that. Becca would be willing to have a committed long-term relationship if it weren't for the fact that she can't find girls who are good for those relationships. Three of her girlfriends broke up with her because they were tired of hiding from her parents, one decided that she was actually straight, Becca sort of accidentally cheated on the fifth, and she broke up with the other two because they just stopped being interesting and attractive. What she really wants to find is one girl who really catches her eye, and who really understands her.

4. So, about that cheating incident. Rebecca will swear up and down that it was not her fault at all. When someone plies her with alcohol, she is clearly not responsible for her actions. What really happened is that, after a few too many drinks, she ended up making out with another girl. In front of her girlfriend at the time. Not exactly the best thing to do, and she was definitely single the next morning. Since then, she has refused to have more than one drink at any party she attends.

5. Her alcohol limit isn't much of a change, anyway. That particular party was something of an oddity, as Becca had never been one for drinking. She has an alcoholic aunt, and having seen that aunt in action, she knows she never wants to end up like that.

6.On a completely different note ... clothes. Yes, she loves them. Becca would die without her wardrobe, and without the accessories that go with it. Scarves, sunglasses, bracelets, etc., she loves it all. If she could, she would probably live in a shopping centre. As it is, Becca does plan to get involved with the fashion industry when she's out of school. Most likely as a designer, although a part of her thinks being a model would be fantastic.

7. This means, of course, that her favourite classes are Art and Cosmetology. She's incredibly serious in Art, always hunched over a sketchpad planning new outfits and drawing them out. She's gotten very good at drawing human figures, actually, although she's never applied that talent to anything but her design sketches.

8. Her least favourite classes, on the other hand, are PE and Chemistry. PE because, ew, who really wants to run around getting sweaty and being judged on your muscle mass and all that for an hour and a bit every day? Definitely not Becca. It's the only class she's ever skipped in her entire life. Now, Chemistry isn't that bad for her, but she still intensely dislikes it. The biggest problem, really, is that she finds it boring. It's not very difficult for her, and that bothers her. She needs a little bit of a challenge to be interested in and enjoy a class.

9. Becca was born on December 14th, and that makes her a Sagittarius. This is important to her. Not only has she subscribed to about 10 different Daily Astrology websites, she also has numerous books on the subject at home. She's currently working on learning how to draw natal charts for people, and synastry charts.

10. As embarrassing as it is, Becca is addicted to romance novels. The only thing she really dislikes about them is how difficult it is for her to get any GLBT- romance novels. She contents herself with stories about musclebound knights or cowboys and their damsels, though, even though she's usually secretly wishing that the heroine would end up with the HelpfulMatchmaker!Girl who seems to be in every story.

11. Guys are at varying degrees of annoying to Becca. She can't seem go a week without one boy offering to solve her "problem" or being asked out by someone who didn't take the five minutes to realize that she's really not interested in boys. New kids, she can understand, and she always turns them down gently. The ones who have been going to school with her for years and have seen her with other girls? Yeah, she's definitely going to be catty with those guys.

12. Another dating problem that annoys her a lot is girls who are faking it. Yes, those girls who makeout with other girls just for the attention. Frankly, Becca would like to give them a good slap, because it makes it incredibly hard for her to know who is okay to ask out and who isn’t.

She also wishes that she was just a smidgen better at being able to tell the difference between a girl who really seems into other girls, and one who actually is.

13. At home, Rebecca has two cats, a dog, and a budgie. Their names, in order, are: Cookie, Nessa, Molly, and Rocky. Molly is technically her brother's dog, and Nessa is her sister's cat, but Becca ends up taking care of almost all the animals. Her parents help too, but they did tell the kids it would be their responsibility to care for the animals. Becca just wishes she wasn't the only one with a responsible bone in her body (although she will, sometimes, admit that that's a little hard on her siblings. They are young, after all).

14. She will never, ever admit it but ... she has kissed a boy before. It was awful and awkward and gross, and she would rather forget it, but it was something she had wanted to try at the time. A little bit of experimentation, if you will. It's one of her deepest secrets because she feels that if anyone knows, they'll assume that she does like boys, and that would just cause too many problems for her.

15. As a last note, Becca's general likes: sketching, shopping, clothing, designing, cats, tropical birds, Polish chocolates, romance novels, Disney movies, astrology, musicals, 80s music, sleeping in, anything turquoise, plaid scarves, silver jewelry, any movie involving Natalie Portman, and chicken nuggets. Her general dislikes are: attention whores, grabby people, war movies, condescending people, homophobes, country music and rap, leopard seals, and liars.
